The KIRANA children’s opera project launched its international premiere on the 9th of May 2015 at the Gallia Theatre in Saintes, France. This outreach project was organized by Abbaye aux Dames – la cite musicale, Saintes. Four artists from Malta conducted a 5-day workshop programme with children from Saintes leading to an interdisciplinary performance. This project introduces children to a wide range of new artistic experiences: digital animation, light painting, contemporary music, shadow puppetry, prepared piano techniques … and more. The KIRANA children’s opera project will be also presented at Classical:NEXT Expo on May 21 in Rotterdam in the Netherlands.
