Inmates4ALS is the latest in a string of events aimed at raising ALS awareness and, more importantly, funding towards research into the cure for this debilitating condition. The concert, which will take place on Saturday, August 27 at Inspire's Razzett tal-Hbiberija in Marsascala, is being organized by the residents of the Corradino Correctional Facility (CCF), and the Mid-Dlam Ghad-Dawl organization, the first such collaboration between CCF inmates and an external voluntary organziation.
The line-up for the concert features a number of Malta's top pop artists, among them Mary Spiteri, Chiara and Mike Spiteri, who have all represented Malta at the Eurovision Song Contest, young Destiny Chukunyere, who won last year's Junior Eurovision Song Contest, as well as other familiar names such as Brooke, Christabelle, Mikaela and Neville Refalo. The singers will be accompanied by a live band under the direction of Mro Joe Brown, while the CCF's own band will perform a set especially prepared for this occasion.
Entrance is against a minimum donation of €5 and there are great prizes to be won during the night, the lottery tickets for which are available here.
