All about the music scene in Malta
TWEE RECORDS MUSIC FOR COLLECTORS
A passion for music and an infatuation for vinyl records and cassette tapes are essentially the reasons behind the creation of TWEE. Independent to its core, the aim of this Malta-based label extends far beyond simply making good music available to the public. By releasing it on vinyl and tape, we want to help bring back the old-school experience of listening to music and, since our releases will all be limited editions, we’re also looking to instil a collectable value to our catalogue!
The label's first release is a limited edition cassette EP featuring 4 tracks performed live and unplugged during past editions of the weekly Rockna radio show. The unplugged versions are presented as they were recorded on the day, and as such may sound quite raw, but until now these versions had been previously unreleased. Only 22 copies of the cassette tape were produced, making this an extremely limited-edition release, but for those who aren't avid collectors or maybe do not own a cassette player, we've made the recordings available for online streaming. Weekly radio show ROCKNA, which is broadcast every Friday on NET FM, celebrated its 8th anniversary in July 2018. Focusing entirely on the music scene in Malta, the show was first broadcast on July 9, 2010. In the 5 years ROCKNA has been on air, it has featured interviews with over 230 different bands and artists, with a good number of them often also performing live unplugged sessions during the programme.
