SECOND NEW VICTORIANS SINGLE & VIDEO RELEASED

As they count down the days to the launch of their debut album, siblings Philippa and Bettina Cassar, aka folk-pop duo The New Victorians, have just released their latest single. Taken off their upcoming debut album, which is due for release next month, Keep me in love is the duo’s second single and, like their debut release Dustpile, comes with an accompanying music video that complements the song’s warmth and intimate feel to a tee.

The music video for Keep me in love was produced and directed by Malcolm Debono, and shot in three different locations. Debono remarked that it was not only a pleasure to work with the two sisters, but that it was difficult not to be inspired by such an amazing track. Despite only being released earlier this week, the new single has been very well-received by their fans and has received a considerable amount of radio airplay already.

The New Victorians’ journey started back in December 2011, when they placed first in the youth division of the International Alchemy Songwriting Competition in Arkansas, USA. That initial success was key to the duo’s career, which saw them focus on releasing their own music in collaboration with mentor Howard Keith and Jagged House Management. “We’re thankful to have been part of this journey and now feel comfortable to share our work”, the sisters’ said in a comment, adding that despite receiving encouraging feedback, they are aware it’s a tough road ahead, but rather than being discouraged, it made them want to work even harder.

After releasing the Dustpile EP last year, which included their unique rendition of Queen’s Somebody to Love, the duo went on to perform with the National Orchestra and also at several big festivals. The band, which now consists of five members, entered the studio to start recording their debut album two years ago.

The album launch will in fact coincide with their performance at the Greek Theatre in Ta’Qali during the 2015 Earth Garden festival on Friday, June 5, where the band will be performing the album for the first time joined by a few surprise guests in what promises to be one of the best Greek theatre performances ever hosted at Earth Garden.
