Il-Bir is the debut single from Maltese band Djun, one of the more recent arrivals on the local music scene. The band, a Maltese language alternative-rock band, have also produced a music video for the song, which is taken off their upcoming debut album, Il-Ħlas, which will be released at the end of June.
The video features a striking montage of lunar shots crafted by Matthew Calleja of Videocafe, complementing the moody and intriguing track while showcasing the band's ability to combine mystery with lush production values and an ear for melody.
Djun will be launching their debut album with not one, but two live concerts - on the 29th and 30th of June - at Palazzo De La Salle (Society of Arts) in Valletta.
It's worth noting that, while Djun is a relatively new band, its members are all seasoned musicians, namely Justin Galea (vocals), Paul Torpiano (keyboards), Ryen Refalo (guitars), Michael Vella Zarb (drums), Charles Cassar (bass).
Il-Ħlas will be available as a digital download and on 12-'' vinyl.
