An emerging talent on the local pop scene, Sarah Bonnici has just released her debut single Bandwagon. Not entirely a newcomer to the local scene, in her early teens the young artist had competed in the Malta Junior Eurovision selection phase and also placed first in the New Talent Section of the Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza, but is now shifting her focus to explore new musical territory.
A fun pop number with hints of jazz, funk and swing in it, Bandwagon flaunts a flowing melody complemented by straightforward lyrics about the way the public tends to be swayed so easily by the latest trends. The song was written by Pamela Bezzina, who is also Bonnici's vocal tutor, with lyrics by Emil Calleja Bayliss. Produced by Philip Vella, the single is also Bonnici's entry for the ongoing Summer Hit Song Contest.
