Despite being based in the UK for a good number of years now, Carrie Haber’s popularity among Maltese music fans has remained steadfast. It’s partly thanks to her occasional performance on this rock of ours, but also because of her bubbly personality which, along with her absolute command of the stage and undisputedly engaging songs, never fail to connect with the audience. Actually, her songs do manage to connect just as well off the stage too, as I’ve found out every time I play one of her songs on my radio show. And furthermore, just this week, her song Satellite, which was released earlier this year, topped Alex O'Mahoney's Top 10 Tracks of the Week on the popular rockpressmusic.com blog, ahead of tunes by the likes of Bring Me The Horizon, You Me At Six, Blink 182 and Blood Red Shoes.
In a previous blog post, O'Mahoney admits he only got to know of the maltese singer-songwriter fairly recently, while attending a TimeOut Rising Stars concert at prestigious London venue The Jazz Cafe' earlier this month. "I hadn't heard any of Carrie's music before the evening, but I am now a huge fan. There are not many artists that can give you goosebumps every time they open their mouth. It was an absolute pleasure to experience this performance. Personal highlight was Satellite which I now can't stop listening to. There is something so intriguing about Carrie, whether it was the beautiful big smile between songs or the fact that her voice is so unique. She is certainly a rising star and a musician you could listen to every day without fail."
RPM may not have the same clout as MTV, but its choice of music is certainly credible, and for an upcoming artist’s work to be named alongside and indeed, ahead of some mighty famous names has to be a good thing whichever way one looks at it, not to mention that it gives me a valid excuse to post Carrie’s good looks and great music on my website for you all to enjoy!
