TRACKAGE SCHEME WEBSITE LAUNCHED

“We’ve come a long way but we finally made it!” So reads the opening message from the people at Trackage Scheme in the press release announcing the launch of the organization’s website. The team has been hard at work for several months putting together an online presence that strives to be unique to support the alternative music scene in Malta. “We didn’t just want to launch another boring website – we challenged ourselves, thought outside the box and attempted to break new ground”, the press release states, and indeed they have, for over and above the ongoing series of live events that Trackage Scheme is staging this summer, they’ve come up with a website that truly reflects their dedication, their passion for the Maltese music scene. “We put our minds, hearts and souls into this project and we are extremely proud to see this end result”, the statement reads, with a little postscript to remind us that “this is just the first version of the website, with many new features to come”.

Without a doubt, the website is another milestone for Trackage Scheme as it pursues its vision to become Malta’s leading platform, seeking to showcase local alternative music in an international spotlight. Contentwise, it offers a variety of features that should appeal to both artists and music followers in Malta as well as beyond our shores, and there’s an inclusive mindset behind it all. “We’re open to constructive feedback which will help us improve on what we have built, to better serve Maltese artists and the alternative community at large”.

The main content areas include a comprehensive artist portfolio of Maltese acts across a wide spectrum of genres, an event calendar focusing solely on the alternative and underground music scenes, a blog section with informative and perhaps even controversial discussions about the Maltese music scene in general, and a music school section encouraging the uptake of music practice. Last but not least, the website has an integrated music player which creates multiple 100 track playlists from the 10,000+ tracks posted in this group, which allows the user to listen to them from any device.

The website’s concept, strategy, design and content was built by the TS team, while web development was handled by Springbox media.
