Despite only being around for a relatively short time, Maltese rock band Planet Seed has managed to maintain a firm presence within the local music scene. This is largely down to the band's immediate impact with debut single It's Gonna Be OK in 2012, which occupied the top spot on Bay Radio's Malta Top 10 charts for 4 consecutive weeks, even earning the band nominations for the Best Newcomers Award at the BMA's and MMA's that same year.
Since then, the band has released two more singles, 2013's Want you to know and Who we are, which was released earlier this year. The two songs book-ending a period of transition that saw various line-up changes and even a musical shift, with the band's sound now flaunting a more pronounced inclination towards alternative rock with a reminiscent hint of Britpop.
Planet Seed released its fourth single earlier this month and, in similar fashion to its predecessors, Follow Me presents more guitar-driven melodic rock that shouldn't disappoint the band's following. The band is working on more material ahead of a planned EP release early next year but before that they'll be launching the music video for Follow Me with a live performance at Hugo's Pub in Paceville on Friday, October 16.
Planet Seed is Klinsmann Coleiro (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Franklin Farrugia (drums, percussion), Julian Dingli (bass) and Glen Cassar (lead guitar) and Bruce Busuttil (guitar).
