Corrode is the title of the debut single from local band OXYGYN, the latest arrival on the Maltese music scene. Released on December 23 the song, for which a music video has also been produced, features the voices of siblings Katia and Kurt Abela. It was written by Kurt and guitarist Janelle Borg, the latter better known as a member of all-girl indie band Cryptic Street. "Our songs are inspired by the likes of Ed Sheeran, James Bay, Daughter and Broods", Kurt said of the band's main influences, adding that OXYGYN seeks to capture the same intense emotion as these artists in its music. "We want to share our experiences, our emotions through our songs, and the band is the medium".
