Beautiful To Me is the latest single UK-based Maltese singer-songwriter Chess Galea. The song is taken from the artist's debut album 1869, which was released last year. A slow, simple guitar and vocal composition, Beautiful To Me celebrates love and appreciation through pure, unsophisticated expression. Produced by Jake Bright and written by Chess herself, this latest single was inspired by one of Chess’ songwriting inspirations, namely Linda Perry.
“Pop music can become so fast-tracked, busy, callous and unmoving at times", Chess said in a comment. "I felt I wanted to backpedal a bit and just say what I wanted to say without all the extra frills”. An accompanying video for the song was filmed in Malta last year, capturing the beautiful scenes and architecture the Mediterranean island has to offer, among them various locations in Valletta, the Argotti Gardens in Floriana, as well as the cliffs in the Riviera Bay area. The video was directed by Fabrizio Fenech and shot by Ben Borg Cardona and his team at Pineapple Media.
