Who would've thought five years ago that Malta Takes London (MTL) would become an annual occurrence. An ambitious event that started out as a simple gig but evolved into a mini-festival based around musical talent with a Maltese connection, MTL has grown into an eagerly anticipated live gathering whose audience has gradually become a mixed bag of UK-based Maltese residents as well as a significant number of British and other UK-based foreign music fans from Europe and beyond; the result offering an interesting and challenging new audience for the Maltese bands to share their music with.
This year's edition, which will take place on Saturday, November 25 at Blundell Studios in the King's Cross area, will feature performances from local acts Cryptic Street, Jack's Fusion and Bila, who will all be flying out especially for the event, and UK-based acts Canvas Wall, Rob Harbour and Neon Islands. Trackage Scheme's Ben Vincenti will be spinning tunes on the night.
The event is also linked to a crowdfunding initiative, details of which can be found here.
