The Valletta 2018 Foundation and Sofar Sounds announce an open call for Maltese bands, singer-songwriters and musicians to apply for the Sofar Sounds Malta-London Exchange.
The selected band, singer-songwriter or musician will participate in a Sofar Sounds gig to take place in in London on Thursday 16th October. The selected act will have the opportunity to play and be recorded in a secret location in front of an invited audience. Footage of the performance will then be uploaded on the Sofar Sounds and Valletta 2018 Youtube Channels. Air travel expenses to London will be paid for and musicians will be awarded some costs towards accommodation and expenses in London. Although language is not a determining factor, acts using the Maltese language are strongly encouraged to apply.
Sofar Sounds curates secret, intimate gigs in living rooms around the world and puts the spotlight on emerging artists, introducing them to new and passionate fans through a unique and magical concert experience.
The first Sofar Sounds Gig in Malta took place in Valletta, last April. This was a resounding success and since the demand for a follow-up gig is high, Sofar Sounds will be hosting a second Maltese gig in October.
