SIMPLE LIFE FOR RISE

Simple Life is the title of the latest single from local band RiSE. The song, which is also accompanied by a music video, marks the band's first recorded output in quite a while, although it must be said their public profile was still quite upfront thanks to regular live performances.

Recorded and produced by guitarist Conrad Dimech at Blacklight Studios, Simple Life, like the band's previous singles, is rooted firmly in pop-rock territory, an area that RiSE are clearly very comfortable in and in which they have proven themselves.

Well-received, radio-friendly and full of energy as all their singles have been however, I can't help thinking that a step outside their comfort zone would bring out a fresh perspective to the catchy melodies they clearly have such a knack for producing.

The song is inspired by the fast pace that has become part and parcel of modern-day living. "Sometimes we have a lot of things going on in our lives and forget or ignore what really makes us happy, such as family and friends", singer Amanda Farrugia remarked about the song. "We tend to underestimate the value of the simple life”.

The music video for the new single - a first for the band since it released its debut single in 2011 - was co-produced with Darryl John Ellul. With the single and video now done and dusted, the band is gearing up for a number of events in the summer, while working on new material too of course.
