That music is a universal language is no secret, so what better use for it if not to convey a positive message, and this is exactly what Worldfest is all about. The annual event, which is organized by Koperattiva Kummerċ Ġust, seeks to promote multiculturalism and ethical consumption awareness. This year’s edition will be held this Sunday, May 24 at the Upper Barrakka Gardens from 10am to 9pm. In the morning there are going to be stalls manned by a number of organizations and ethical businesses, as well as a number of practical workshops focusing on different topics as well as this year’s chosen theme of Food. The programme also includes belly-dancing, a Palestinian dance show and live music performances from Zsixteen, Wisdom Friday and Mistura. Fair trade tea/coffee and ethnic food will also be available.
