1869 is the name of the debut album from UK-based Maltese artist Chess Galea. The album, which was officially released in the UK on April 18, features an eclectic blend of old-school sounds and feel-good pop, essentially reflecting the diverse array of influences that have shaped the young artist's musical journey so far.
Written and performed from the soul, the album touches every emotion, from addressing current affairs and social issues to bold affairs of the heart and some upbeat stuff you can dance to.
The official UK launch party will be held on May 20 at PRIMO Bar in London's Park Plaza Hotel, while the Malta launch party will take place at Razzett L-Ahmar in Mosta on June 6.
Chess started her music career in 2010, with her debut single reaching the #1 spot in the Maltese radio charts. She’s been nominated for ‘Best Solo Artist’ . In the UK, she was featured on BBC Introducing & Best Of British Unsigned and has collaborated with DJs all around the world.
