A BUSY SUMMER FOR TRIBALI

As you read this, Tribali are most likely on their way to some place in Europe, sharing their energy and music with new audiences on foreign shores. Without a doubt, this has been the busiest summer the band has probably had since its inception, a musical adventure which, by the end of the season, will have seen them perform over a dozen performances in four different countries, namely Sicily, Hungary, Spain and Portugal, the latter being new territories for the band.

The band's successful infiltration of the international music and festival circuit was no easy task. It required a lot of hard work, but having hooked up with the right people abroad, Tribali have managed to seize the opportunity and overcome the challenges, logistically in particular, to travel to different places and create new experiences.

In a comment, Tribali's Peter Paul said "this year started with change, in that we brought in the young and talented musician Andrew Francica, who plays sitar and guitar", and after that we immediately started to experiment with new sounds and work on new tracks". Some of these were introduced locally during Tribali's set at last June's Earth Garden festival, which was also their first live performance in Malta this year. "The response from the crowd was great, which naturally encourages us to keep creating more music, but one particular challenge we faced this year was organizing our own event in Hungary". The event, held on board a specially-converted boat, sold out quite quickly. "We worked hard as we needed to bring in an audience from scratch for this particular event", Peter Paul continued, "but I'm pleased at the outcome, and I believe we're building a very solid fanbase there".

In between their commitments abroad, Tribali have also managed to include some local dates, such as their recent appearance at the Farsons Beer Festival and their yearly concert in Gozo, which will take place on Sunday, August 14. Clearly, the future is looking very bright for Tribali, and there's also a brand new album in the making, so make sure to stay updated with the band's activities via either their Facebook page or official website, www.tribalimusic.com.
