It's All in the Mix is the fourth event in a series of educational talks being organized by Electronic Music Malta in collaboration with Fondazzjoni Kreattivita' on various aspects of music production. This one in particular focuses on Effective Mixing and Remix Stem Preparation and will be hosted by Justin Meli, a self-taught Maltese artist primarily known for his output under the Sonitus Eco alter ego.
The talk will address a very critical stage in the music production process that involves blending all the sounds together in a mix, a stage known as the mixdown. Justin Meli will be taking participants through this process using Ableton Live music production software. He will be going through the ground rules which lead to the finalization of a track. Beyond music production, Justin will also give insight on the $6 million dollar question, which is 'How does one contact a record label and what to material should you send them?'
The talk will take place in Studio B at Spazju Kreattiv on Saturday, May 6 at 4pm. Attendance to this event will be free of charge and open to the public.
