This summer's first release by Maltese internet-based record label Dubkey is the self-titled debut outing from Three Little Birds. Featuring 12 tracks, all of them instrumental, the album traces Belgian artist Ewoud Vandenberghen first steps as a dub/steppers artist. The end result is an enticing collection of music brimming with infectious melodies propelled by inventive drum beats, solid bass lines and memorable synth hooks.
Three Little Birds was formed in 2012 by Vandenberghen, who also composed, mixed and produced all of the tracks on the album with the exception of Traces Of Sky Dub, which is a collaboration with Stefan Hendrickx. Among his major influences, Vandenbergehn cites artists such as Dougie Conscious, Aba-Shanti-I, Vibronics and fellow countryman Crucial Alphonso.
