CEB MALTA KICKS OFF WITH 'ELECTRIFYING ELMO'

Cultural Events Brand (CEB Malta) is a new organization with the aim of promoting culture by staging events in particular locations around the Maltese islands that are perhaps not as frequented by tourists and the Maltese people, among them for example, the Chinese Garden of Serenity, Hastings Gardens and the L-Għarusa tal-Mosta garden.

By way of these events, CEB Malta will also be providing a platform for local and foreign street artists and performers. It is commonplace in most major European cities to find buskers and street performers providing ongoing entertainment, and CEB Malta wants to encourage this type of activity on our island, offering them the exposure that they would get in places like Covent Garden in London or La Rambla in Barcelona.

To ensure well-executed cultural events, CEB Malta has partnered with companies that are well-known for their high standard of service, namely James Caterers for catering, Karl Borg Events for logistics and organization and Vegware to ensure all CEB Malta events generate zero waste and have a low environmental impact.

CEB Malta will be officially launching with Electrifying Elmo, an event that will take place at Fort St. Elmo in Valletta on Saturday, September 5. The programme features a number of Maltese and foreign street artists performing throughout the evening, livening up the place with fire-dancing, acoustic sessions, magic shows and more, as well as a spectacular light display on the bastion walls.

Born in Australia and raised in New Zealand, world-class street escapologist and London Magic Circle member Tony Roberts is one of the headlining street performers. He has performed the UK and Australian street theatre and arts festival circuits with his Unchain your Dreams show as well as his solo close-up Card Magic show.

Top Maltese band Airport Impressions will headline the music stage, preceded by supporting performances from popular indie act nosnow/noalps and nosnow/noalps, accordionist Brian Tonna and other acts.

Entrance to Electrifying Elmo is €15, including food and a welcome drink. Tickets are available online at www.ticketline.com.mt. Doors open at 8pm and the event ends at midnight.
