TENISHIA IN THE TOP 100 FOR 5TH TIME

Establishing a foothold on the international music scene is in itself a significant achievement for any local musician; placing in the world's Top 100 DJ list is understandably a bigger deal. To do this for five consecutive years is without a doubt a remarkable triumph, and it's certainly no surprise that Maltese DJ duo Tenishia are beaming right now, having done just that.

Once again, Malta's biggest dance music export to date made it to DJ Mag's Top 100 DJ list, the only Maltese artists to make this prestigious list to date. Understandably, Tenishia's social media pages have been flooded with positive comments from their wide-reaching army of Maltese and international fans, the latter boosted in no small way by a whirlwind gigging schedule that has seen Tenishia establish itself as a leading global music act. "2015 has been one of our best years", the DJs said, referring to their rousing third appearance at the renowned Tomorrowland Festival and their runaway success in Asia, where the duo also hosts a monthly television show on MTV.

Featuring the likes of Dimtri Vegas and Like Mike (who topped this year's list), as well as Hardwell and Martin Garrix, the DJ Mag poll has fast become the primary go-to reference list for dance music enthusiasts. The only official DJ poll in the world, DJ Mag's Top 100 list is based on a public vote and has been around since 1999. Its list of winners is a veritable hall of fame, with artists such as Carl Cox, Sasha, Tiesto, Armin van Buuren and David Guetta all having topped the list in past years.

Tenishia were ranked at #71 this year, climbing two places from last year's position. Their highest ranking to date was in 2012, when they placed at #50. It is estimated that more than 40,000 DJs from all over the world compete for a spot in the DJ MAG Top 100 list.

As has become the tradition every time they have placed in DJ Mag's Top 100 list, Tenishia will be putting their international touring on hold to host a special event on home turf and celebrate this great achievement with their fellow Maltese fans. The event, also featuring special guest Gavyn Mytchel, will be held at Sky Club in Paceville on November 21. Entrance is free. Click here for more info.
