STRUMMIN'S BACK: GET READY TO DANCE!

Let's Dance isn't just the title of the late, great David Bowie's classic hit from the 80s - it's also the theme for this year's edition of the popular annual Strummin' concerts. Featuring the biggest 'guitar choir' on the island, Strummin' is this year celebrating its 15th anniversary, so the energy will almost certainly be running higher than ever before inside the University of Malta's Sir Temi Zammit Hall, where the concerts will be staged on Friday, November 4 and Saturday, November 5.

The highlight of the show of course, is tied to the large number of accompanying acoustic guitarists - this year totalling more than 70 - who will be strumming along to popular tunes from diverse eras and styles. The performance will feature 20 different guest singers, among them familiar names such as OzzyLino, Kenneth Calleja and Neville Refalo alongside aspiring vocalists, who will be singing hits by the likes of Queen, Aerosmith, Foo Fighters, The Jacksons, Earth Wind and Fire, The Beatles and Muse, to name but a few.

As in previous years, all proceeds gathered will be donated to a worthy cause, this year's choice being Dar Frate Jacoba, the centre of Youth Alive Foundation which offers shelter to homeless youths who find themselves on the edge of society. The Strummin' team recently also recorded a song, Lead The Way, which was released to commemorate the event's 15th anniversary. The release was supported by XFM 100.2 and released exclusively to that radio station, but can also be streamed on YouTube.

Tickets for the concerts are available online at Trackage Scheme's ticket portal.

Strummin –Let’s Dance is supported by XFM100.2 and Olimpus Music.
