With a forty-five-year career behind him, William Mangion is certainly no newcomer to the Maltese music scene. His name will probably forever be linked to his 1993 song This Time, which placed 8th in that year’s Eurovision Song Contest in Ireland, but there’s more to this veteran artist than that. He’s had his taste of success as the voice of top local act Getting Closer and the UK band Still Waters, further to which he has maintained a steady solo career thanks to his entertaining live performances.
Occasionally, Mangion still puts out the odd single too, though his latest such outings date back to 2004’s Will You Ever and 2005, when he collaborated with dance producer Toby on Cloud. In the years since, his music has taken him to the US and again to the UK before relocating to Malta, where he has re-established himself as a mainstay within the live circuit.
Now, William Mangion is back with a brand new single that looks back to his roots in rhythm and blues for inspiration. Composed by the man himself and with lyrics penned by Angie Balzan, the new tune comes draped in a fresh sound that perfectly fits his unique vocal timbre to a tee, as in T for Temptation is a Master, the title of the new single.
Recorded and produced by Sean Vukovic, Mangion's new single is a slinky mid-paced tune with a killer bassline and a catchy hook that will linger on in your mind long after the music has ended, so get ready to be tempted and move to the funky groove! The song will be available online shortly.
