Following a very successful introduction last year, voluntary organization Fondazzjoni Nazareth will be staging the second edition of the Żejtun FolkFest as part of its fund-raising efforts. The three-day festival will take place at St. Gregory's Gardens and kicks off at 7pm on Thursday, July 24, offering a programme of live music, culture and family entertainment. The confirmed line-up of acts performing at the festival includes Mistura, Planet Seed, Joe Roscoe, Chris & Errol (from Airport Impressions), Lyndsay & LuLu, Scarlet Sally, De Bee, Infinite Loop, Footprints, Odessa Green, Christabelle and medieval group Bibita. The programme also includes għana sessions featuring a number of renowned Maltese għannejja.
Fondazzjoni Nazareth is operated on a voluntary basis, providing support and shelter for persons with special needs. Founded in 1995 by Fr Angelo Seychell, the organization runs three different homes in Żejtun, providing a home for those who either have no family or who cannot live with their family for some reason or other. Presently offering its services to 29 persons, the organization is currently building a new home to expand its operation.
