MUSIC MARATHON FOR HOSPICE MALTA

Music marathons have been a regular feature on the local music scene for many years, decades even. They will no doubt continue to thrive, as much for the fact that they almost always support a noble cause, as well as because they offer a convenient platform for both established and upcoming bands. Ticking both these boxes, the upcoming Live Music Marathon being held at Ir-Razzett L-Aħmar in Mosta in the weekend of 6-7-8 February is also quite likely the biggest - as in number of performing acts - that has been staged in Malta in recent years.

With the organisers clearly putting their time to good use and not wasting any in thinking of a fancy name for the event, it's simply being promoted on the social media as 'Live music marathon in aid of Hospice'. That, really, is what it's all about: bands onstage doing what they do best and the audience doing its part by being there to enjoy the show and, of course, support the fundraising campaign with a donation. With preparations well under way and the event drawing ever closer, I spoke to Edward Tagliaferro from the organising team behind the marathon.
