It may have been a long time coming, but 12th Ode's The Awakening is finally here, with the band all fired up and their debut album ready to launch this Friday when they take the stage at Razzett L-Ahmar in Mosta.

The majority of the album's tracks - all original compositions - have been performed at one or more of the band's gigs this past year, but four of the songs (among them epic album closer Witch Hunter) will be unveiled exclusively during what can most certainly be described as a milestone event for the Maltese rock band.

Inspired largely by the New Wave of British Heavy Metal of yesteryear, The Awakening also features traces of other metal sub-genres that have permeated the band's sound in the years the band has been together. The end result is an assertive step towards creating metal music that blends vintage elements with a contemporary edge without losing any of its authenticity.

The launch gig will also feature an opening performance from special guests Blind Saviour while 12th Ode will be playing the album in its entirety.

Tickets cost €8 (entrance only), €12 (entrance + album) and €20 (entrance, album & T-shirt).

Doors open at 9pm, with the first band starting at 10pm and 12th Ode performing at 11pm.
