Following the success of last year's first edition, Talbot & Bons are again staging their music marathon, which will involve 60 acts performing for 60 hours of non-stop live music. Kicking off on Friday, October 21 and ending on Sunday, October 23, the marathon event will cover a wide spectrum of music genres; from acoustic duos to jazz, soft rock and much more.
The list of confirmed acts is quite diverse and features some very well-known names from the Maltese music scene, among them Pamela Bezzina, Claudia Faniello, Nadine Axisa, Rachel Fabri, Sandrina & Keith from Skarlet, Gianluca Bezzina, Dominic Galea, Paul Giordimaina and Vinny Vella Jr., with more names being added to the line-up as we speak. It is important to remember that, music apart, the Talbot & Bons marathon is also about making a difference, and as was the case with last year's event, this year's marathon is for a good cause. This time around, all funds collected will go towards supporting children and young people who have music potential but don't have the resources to help them pursue their musical aspirations. The team behind this fund-raising initiative, which depends as much on the participating musicians as well as the general public's support, hopes to help aspiring young musicians achieve their dream.
In this regard, applications are available so that an evaluation process can be started and, subject to the sum collected, a selected number of young, aspiring musicians can benefit from this opportunity. Applications should be submitted by latest Thursday, October 20.
